Named after the Muses

Films. Music. Stories. Forgotten Myths.
─ WHO WE ARE
We make films
about
the stuff history
forgot.
Mousai started the way most things do: a small group of friends who kept saying “someone should make a film about that” until we ran out of excuses and actually did it.
We use generative tools not because it’s trendy but because some of these worlds can’t exist any other way. No studio, no 200-person crew, just a shared obsession with the stories that keep getting overlooked.
─ Why Mousai
Nine Sisters.
The ancient Greeks had nine Muses, one for every human endeavor worth caring about,
from comedy to astronomy. We liked the idea. No walls. No single lane.
That’s why we took the name.

Thalia
Comedy
Muse of comedy and pastoral poetry. Laughter is the oldest medicine.

Melpomene
Tragedy
Muse of tragedy. The best stories cost something.

Euterpe
Music
Muse of music and lyric poetry. Some truths only arrive as melody.

Terpsichore
Dance
Muse of dance and chorus. The body says what words can’t.

Erato
Love Poetry
Muse of love poetry. Longing is a language in and of itself.

Calliope
Epic Poetry
Muse of epic poetry. The longest journeys make the best stories.

Urania
Astronomy
Muse of astronomy. There’s meaning in the distance between stars.

Clio
History
Muse of history. Nothing worth remembering gets forgotten.

Polyhymnia
Sacred Hymns
Muse of sacred poetry and hymns. Silence says just as much as words.

GHATOTKACH
The Demon Prince of the Mahabharata
Set on the 13th day of the Mahabharata war, when the Pandavas are on the verge of collapse, the film follows their last gamble: unleashing Ghatotkach, the demon-human son of Bhim to face Karna and his unstoppable army. We took some creative liberties and gave Ghatotkacha his own demon superhero army.

─ From Our Universe
Our Characters
We went looking for overlooked figures and gave them a new look.

─ The Circle
THE CREW
We’re small on purpose. For everything else, we work with brilliant collaborators
around the world who are annoyingly more talented than us.

Amit Bhartia
The least creative person here and fully aware of it. Someone has to type the prompts into ChatGPT and pretend it was their idea. Keeps the lights on, stays out of the edit bay, and tries not to ruin things the talented people built. His main skill is… still searching.

Saumya Tandon
Millions of people know her from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai and Dhurandhar. We know her as the person who watches our rough cuts and says “no” until we actually try harder. Without her, this would all just be vibes and no standards.

Aishia Datta
Trained singer, sound engineer, and the person the AI actually listens to. Also quietly runs operations, coordinates the crew, and makes sure things ship on time. Mousai’s secret weapon.

Ishan Modi
Moved from NYC to Mumbai because apparently one chaotic film industry wasn’t enough. Knows the grammar of real cinema and brings it to a crew that would otherwise just wing it.
We work with editors, animators, and filmmakers all over the world. Different project, different crew.

We’re always looking for the next weird, wonderful thing to make.
Got a figure nobody’s heard of? A myth that deserves a screen?
